IMAGIC is a flexibly programmable ultrasonic diagnostic system with high image quality. With its cart concept and its detachable control panel, it is intended particularly for mobile use in clinics and practices and therefore meets the demand for a device below the established, stationary high-end large-scale equipment.
The keyboard height is adjusted by a motor and can be swivelled sideways in an easily accessible operating position for the diagnostician. Independently of this, the monitor can also be freely tilted and swiveled. Thus the IMAGIC operating unit will fully satisfy the ergonomic requirements of the physician and help him to involve the patient in the examination process, - a quick twist of the screen, and the doctor can show and explain in real time what is made visible inside the body by the ultrasonic sensor.
The medical design specialists of the Meyer-Hayoz Design Engineering Group were able to accompany the complex development process from the very beginning through all stages of the project right up to the successful market introduction; our contribution to this project comprised design strategies, design visions, module concepts, usability and ergonomics studies, handling studies to CAD visualizations through to engineering support, the model with rapid prototyping (stereolithography, vacuum casting) and the color definition, as well as product graphics and branding.
The result is a medical technology solution which has redefined the benchmark.
