Technical Design of a 'Plug and Produce' Line for PackSys Global

The HPM Line by PackSys Global is used to produce high quality plastic tubes for the cosmetics industry. It functions by extruding plastic granules into a tube, in the central «header» unit, the head part is molded almost seamlessly. In the following process modules, the screw cap is snapped on before the finished tube is printed and surface-treated using a high-speed procedure.

The technical level of the HPM is very impressive, given the high quality requirements in the cosmetics sector. Switching to a different format, including tool change, takes place very quickly. PackSys Global has set the benchmark with the HPM Line and therefore rightly speaks of a 'Plug and Produce' Line.

With the design of several individual machines, the Meyer-Hayoz Design Engineering Group created the basis for a consistent corporate design of the internationally active PSG Group. For the complete development of HPM, this design approach had to prove itself both formally and in a production-orientated way, on a large scale. The success achieved in this respect is  demonstrated impressively with the consistent converted line. The ingenious sliding door concept of the header module allows maximum access to all the tools and format settings, and thus forms the basis for rapid job changes
